As of yesterday, Microsoft has made OneNote free for all Windows 7 and 8.x systems plus offered up a new version just for Mac OSX systems!

The Windows installer is a ‘dropper’ file approximately 1 MB in size and will download the needed files to install OneNote on your computer. The file for the Mac version of OneNote is 235 MB in size.
