Paul the Tall has ported it for Mac. I can't use it myself, because I'm fucking stuck using 10.5, but that shouldn't stop the rest of you from having fun.
Edit: I say it was the coolest thing about XP, because it wasn't the coolest part of 95. 95 was pretty damn awesome. Also, just found a write-up of why it was dropped from Windows after that. Not for legal reasons, but because they couldn't make it work.
